Crystal Healing Properties

It is often best to choose a healing crystal by your own intuition.  Some say that the crystal actually chooses you.

Below you will find properties that are well known if not scientifically proven for many crystals.  Keep checking back with us as we add more as often as we can.

Agate - SiO2+Al,Ca,Fe,Mn

Agate is throught to be a protective and good luck stone.  Very popular in the ancient world, India, Nepal and Tibet.

Mentally - Calm, Concentration, Protection, Strengthens rational thought, balance.

Physically - works with: the bladder, intestinal inflammation, diseases of the uterus.  Digestion and skin diseases.

Chakra: Varies depending on colour.

Amazonite - K[AlSi3O8]+Cu

Named by the South American Indians as the ‘Amazon Stone’.

Mentally - Self-determination, mood balancing, calming, dissolves sadness, problem solving.

Physically - works with: pituitary gland and thymus gland, nervous system, hear complaints due to grief, regulates metabolism, cramp dissolving.

Chakra: Spleen, Solar Plexus, Heart, Connects higher heart to throat.

Amethyst - SiO2+(Al,Fe,Ca,Mg,Li,Na)

Defined as a mineral that ‘makes a person better, disperses bad thoughts ,and brings good commonsense and makes one mild and gentle’.

Mentally - Relieves sadness and grief.  Encourages sobriety and awareness.  Overcomes addiction.

Physically - works with: nervous complaints, diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract, skin blemishes and intestinal complaints.  Relieves pain and releases tension, especially headaches.

Chakra: Third Eye, Crown and Higher Crown

Aquamarine - Be3Al2(Si6O18)+K,Li,Na+(Fe)

Traditionally believed to bring well-being, a good memory and clairvoyance.

Mentally - Clears up confusion, brings unfinished business to a conclusion.  Bestows light heartedness and a happy relaxed disposition.

Physically - works with: pituitary and thyroid gland, regulating growth and hormone balance.  Can improve short or long sightedness, clams overreactions and hayfever.

Chakra: Aligns all, clears throat chakra, opens third eye.

Mentally - Calming in cases of over-sensitivity, inner restlessness and nervous twitching, making us feel physically well in our own body.  

Physically - works with: immune system and digestive complaints.  Stimulates muscle activity and encourages the build-up and elasticity of the inter-vertebral discs.

Aragonite - CaCO3+Fe,Mn,Pb,Sr,Zn,H2O

Aventurine - SiO2+KAl2[(OH,F)2/AlSi3O10]+(Cr)

Aventurine is available in a number of different colours, Green/Blue sometimes red

Mentally - Self determination, relaxation, regeneration, recovery.

Physically - works with: the heart.  Regeneration of the heart, stimulates the fat metabolism and lowers cholesterol.  Can prevent arteriosclerosis and heart attacks.  Relieves pain.

Chakra: Varies depending on colour

Azurite - Cu3[(OH)2/(CO3)2]

Azurite is often found with other minerals such as malachite creating stunning beads.

Mentally - Causes us to be critical.  Reveals our thought patterns and helps us to think things through.

Physically - works with: the liver, aiding detoxification.  Stimulates the activity of the brain and nerves.  Helps the thyroid gland.

Chakra: Third Eye, Crown, higher crown.
